My Role

My company hosts virtual team building events and we've been doing it since 2017. We're still quite small of a company so I get to do a little bit of everything: setting direction, hiring and firing facilitators, training and onboarding, finances and taxes, sales and marketing, partnerships. On the day-to-day, I'm kind of like an air traffic controller, connecting our clients with our facilitators and making sure everyone has the tools and information to have an amazing time playing together.

What I love most about my role

I get to work with the most talented, amazing actors, facilitators and team members. I'm honestly dumbstruck at how great everyone on my team is and how willing they are to pull up their sleeves and help me in random tasks/projects. Every time I get to watch one of their performances, I'm amazed at how brilliant my team is and how I could never do what they do.

How I define success

I see life as a resource management game. Success to me is to have lived an honestly good life where I've improved the lives of those around me. Success is being happy about what I have and always learning and growing. Success is being able to surround myself with amazing people who inspire me every day.

The best piece of business advice I ever received was

When you don't put yourself out there, you're basically saying no to yourself. Whether this is for sales, marketing or for networking. If you don't reach out and ask, then how will people know you're out there?

What would I tell my younger self

There is no one path to life. Pick what is right for you and enjoy the journey.

What 2B Bolder mean to me

I love what 2B Bolder is doing to empower women and tell stories of success. I know when I was little girl, there weren't that many powerful, amazing, inspiring women to look up to and emulate. I never ever thought about owning my own business, it just wasn't in the realm of possibilities.

Years of Experience

I recommend you focus on developing these 3 skills to succeed in a role like mine

Perpetual curiosity: I learn quickly and I'm always looking to learn more ideas, information and skills. Community building and building moments of authentic connection. Context switching: I hop from one task to another quickly.
