My Role
I am President and CEO of Peacock Floors, a commercial flooring firm. I also purchase businesses, including other flooring and contracting companies. I am a licensed flooring contractor by trade, and we are a woman-owned business.
What I love most about my role
I love having the ability to impact people’s spaces and have them show up, appreciate, and feel better about working or living in the space that they do.
How I define success
By having options. Success is just an iteration of your ability to have options.
The best piece of business advice I ever received was
If it starts bad, it’s more than likely going to end bad.
What would I tell my younger self
I would tell my younger self to bear down on the unsexy and not be fooled by the sexiness of working in tech.
I grew up during the Facebook boom and the Google boom in San Francisco in 2011, and I was really ashamed of what I was doing at the time. I would tell my younger self that by the time that same cohort of colleagues enters their mid-to-late 30s, they’re going to be wishing they had the flexibility and freedom that you have, that they worked in the trades, and that they owned a business.
What 2B Bolder mean to me
It means having the courage, tenacity, and fortitude to try something new and keep going until it works.
Years of Experience
18 years
I recommend you focus on developing these 3 skills to succeed in a role like mine
Leadership, sales, and communication, especially making people feel included.
