My Role
Sarah Michelle Boes, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is the Founder of Sarah Michelle NP Reviews and currently serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at Blueprint Test Prep, a new board member for Conquering CHD starting January 2025, and a Committee Chair member for Children’s Heart Foundation Annual Cincinnati Walk. With a robust educational background including a BSN from the University of Kentucky and an MSN in Nursing Education from Western Governors University, Sarah has extensive experience in oncology, intensive care, and nursing education. In 2020, she launched SMNP Reviews, an innovative platform that rapidly grew to a seven-figure business within seven months. Following SMNP Reviews’ acquisition by Blueprint in 2022, Sarah transitioned to a role where she continues to oversee the nursing vertical and integrate cutting-edge educational technologies.
Sarah's entrepreneurial journey is deeply intertwined with her personal life. Her daughter Meadow, born with severe heart defects, has required extensive medical care, inspiring Sarah's commitment to pediatric cardiac research and care. In recognition of Meadow’s journey, Sarah and her husband are making a $15 million legacy donation to Norton Children's Hospital, where the new Congenital Heart Center will be named in their honor. This contribution underscores their dedication to improving healthcare for children with congenital heart conditions.
Beyond her business success, Sarah is a passionate advocate for mental health and female entrepreneurship. Her own experiences with anxiety and OCD have fueled her mission to help others manage mental health challenges, particularly within high-stakes environments like healthcare. She leverages her platform to support female entrepreneurs and promote awareness about the importance of mental well-being in professional settings.
With a significant social media following and notable media features, Sarah continues to influence the healthcare and entrepreneurial communities. She aims to further her impact through philanthropy, focusing on congenital heart disease and mental health advocacy, while supporting ongoing advancements in pediatric healthcare.
What I love most about my role
Today, my predominant focus is on changing the world of other children with congenital heart disease like my daughter. What I love most about being an activist in this community is the fact that I know that I can impact meaningful change for the future. For the first time in history, there are more adults living with congenital heart disease than children. This means that these children are now living into adulthood, and that is a direct reflection of the champions and advocates who have come before me.
How I define success
Since the acquisition of my business, my definition of success revolves around the level of philanthropic impact I can make in the world of congenital heart disease. In addition to that, my definition of success has never revolved around a certain dollar amount, but more so in the amount of time freedom I have. This has become even more important as I now raise a young toddler.
The best piece of business advice I ever received was
If I could go back to that 25 year old woman five years ago, I would tell her that the best business piece of advice I have ever received is so simple: Listen to your gut. It’s a statement we hear all the time, but few can actually execute on what it really means. Being attuned to your body and mind is a skill that takes practice, but when you’re a female founder, it will truly be your golden ticket to tap into that. In addition, I would tell her that a little bit of chaos is a normal and expected part of the process both in life and business. We can try to control for every variable, but ultimately a little chaos can lead to the next pivot that will change your life.
What would I tell my younger self

What 2B Bolder mean to me
Being bold to me today means living my life as authentically as possible. In a world of social media and less genuine human-to-human connection, authenticity can get a little lost. It is scary to be your true self, fully and transparently displayed. To me though, that’s where the magic happens. Being bold also means leaps of faith into the unknown because you’ll never be able to have it all figured out before you make your next move. So, why not jump away and see what happens?

I recommend you focus on developing these 3 skills to succeed in a role like mine
Lastly, I think my top 3 skills are authenticity, relatability and resilience. Those were the core skills that created my business. I had no prior business experience or knowledge, but because I leaned into those 3 core skills, my business was wildly successful. I show up as my full self in every endeavor I do - whether that was in my business or now in my advocacy work. That is the equation that gives me success every time.
