My Role
My name is Angela Quach, founder and CEO of The Destiny Lab. We are a digital marketing consulting powerhouse specializing in brand, strategy, and technology solutions. We are creating a full suite of AI- powered martech products for women built by women.
What I love most about my role
I love having a vision come to life. Vision and leadership come with a lot of responsibility - delegation, communication, and people management, but I know I am the woman for the job. So everyday feels like a challenge/adventure to create something of meaning.
How I define success
I define success as a deep feeling, a true sense of fulfillment. You can achieve big goals and have millions of dollars, but is that what truly fulfills you? Or is it the feeling of self-pride knowing that you went after what you truly wanted? Do you want the money or do you want that money to travel the world and take care of your family, experience as much life as possible?
The best piece of business advice I ever received was
The best piece of advice I’ve ever received is to dream big. I had to give myself permission to dream big. I was hindering my own vision because I was scared to own a big, beautiful vision for my company. When you give yourself permission to dream big, you give the Universe permission to create space for it. You must plant your own seeds for greatness to grow.
My goal is for The Destiny Lab to be a $50M company. Currently, The Destiny Lab has been evaluated as a $2.5M company. We did that in less than 3 years! I believe that could have only happened because I prepared for this to happen. Now, what if I didn’t dream big? What if I planned for a $5K company? You will only go as far as your capacity, that’s why I KNOW it starts with your mindset. Your company is a reflection of your vision.
What would I tell my younger self
I would tell my younger self to not worry what people think of you and to be proud of who you are. Growing up I was the only Asian girl in my neighborhood, so I felt like I didn’t belong. On top of that, I was poor, so needless to say, the insecurities were real. I would tell my younger self that the things you feel insecure about now will be your superpowers later. You will be an advocate for diverse representation in all facets of leadership because you will be a great diverse leader. And there is no shame in being poor, you will learn that this will make you more resilient and driven than most, and that drive will keep you diligent in your multi-million dollar company. You will also know the value of money, you’ll be saavier than your peers. When most entitled consultants think $10k/month is not enough to pay their bills, you will see it as an opportunity to be seized and launch your business from it.
