What I love most about my role
Ability to be innovative and develop immediate needs for clients -- individually and organizationally. The strategic visioning, partnerships, and creative solutions that challenge the formal structures of government systems motivates me to design differently so government can serve everyone. The evolution of this work to interpersonal executive coaching allows me to provide wrap-around services and diverse networks to bring solutions to my clients.
How I define success
I have recently revised this -- success to me is ensuring that my health and mindset stay operationally fit. This means I have time to meditate, workout, eat healthy, etc. When my work interferes with these activities - something is not successful. When my work allows the activities to occur, I am my best self for my team, my clients, and the businesses.
The best piece of business advice I ever received was
Two things:
1) Don't spend too much time in the highs, nor too much time in the lows. You will lose perspectives.
2) Pay attention to the recurring leadership lessons -- it means you aren't growing and you need those to get to the next level.
What would I tell my younger self
Remember to put yourself first -- its the only way these things will work when its tough b/c no one else will be there to catch you but yourself.
What 2B Bolder mean to me
Embrace the things that others have quieted -- they did them out of their own fears and insecurities and you don't have space for that. So speak up, wear the bright clothes, say no, challenge why...its what is meant for you anyway.
