I am the Founder and CEO of Urban GLO.
What I love most about my role
I love the ability to be creative within my role as a candle maker. Also, I love that I get to use my accounting background to make sure my business is financially sound.
How I define success
I define success as accomplishing my personal goals and feeling good about the progress that I’ve made. The small wins always add up to big wins with the right attitude and patience.
The best piece of business advice I ever received was
I was watching the documentary called American Symphony. I am paraphrasing but Jon Batiste mentioned in the documentary to protect your ambition from taking over. I felt that because I have big dreams of growing my brand. But I never want my ambition to take me away from my loved ones and the moments we could share. So being an entrepreneur is not all that I am: I am a mom, a sister, a friend, a creator, and all of that can co-exist but it requires balance and grounding.
What would I tell my younger self
I would tell myself there is no need to worry. The future will be so bright, so promising, and so fulfilled. All that you are going through will turn around in the best way.
