My Role

I lead content strategy and creative development at Authors on a Mission, overseeing our content across blogs, social media, and podcasts. I also work directly with clients as a ghostwriter and editor, having written over 150 books and edited more than 50 manuscripts across various genres. My expertise spans business, technology, and professional development writing, with a focus on turning complex topics into engaging narratives.

What I love most about my role

What I love most about my role is the opportunity to help others achieve their goals through the written word. Whether I'm crafting engaging business content, developing compelling narratives, or editing manuscripts, I get to transform complex ideas into accessible stories that resonate with readers. The variety of projects keeps me creatively challenged, and there's nothing more satisfying than seeing a client's vision come to life through carefully crafted content.

How I define success

I define success as having the freedom to be my own boss and set my own schedule while doing work that creates meaningful impact. Through my writing and editing, I'm able to help others share their stories and knowledge in ways that can educate, inspire, or transform their readers. I love having the autonomy to choose projects I'm passionate about and the ability to make a difference through my work.

The best piece of business advice I ever received was

"Identify a need in the market and fill it with what you know and love." In my case, I recognized there was a strong demand for high-quality ghostwriting and editing services, and I was able to combine my passion for writing with my expertise in various genres to meet that need. It's about finding that sweet spot where your skills and interests intersect with what people are actually looking for.

What would I tell my younger self

"Don't take your current situation as the final destination." When I was working as a teacher and waitress, I was content, but I had no idea of the possibilities that lay ahead. It wasn't until I experimented with freelance writing that I truly began to expand my horizons. Now, I've traveled the world, earn significantly more than I ever imagined possible, and have the privilege of talking and working with authors, business leaders, and influential professionals globally. All of this happened because I was willing to try something new and develop my skills while having the time of my life. So, "be open to new opportunities and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone." SO many people, especially women, think that the end-all-be-all is to be married and have a nice house, even in this day and age. We can do that AND so much more! And, most of it leads to incredible stories along the way, which is why writing is a huge thing to me now.

What 2B Bolder mean to me

2B Bolder really speaks to me because I started as a teacher and waitress, pretty comfortable but playing it safe. Being "bolder" meant taking that first step into freelance writing, even though I had no idea where it would lead. Now I get to work with amazing clients around the world. You don't have to make huge, scary jumps but just be willing to try new things and seeing where they take you. That's exactly what 2B Bolder encourages women to do.
