What I love most about my role
I love being a web developer because each day I am faced with new design requests or new coding issues. For this, I am constantly challenging myself and always learning. Each project is different so it never gets boring. I also love using my creative skills as well. My job also provides flexibility so that I can work from home (or anywhere) for that matter which has been so pivotal with raising three children.
How I define success
I define success by enjoying my career being able to maintain a great work-life balance. I think the most important thing is to enjoy what you do.
The best piece of business advice I ever received was
Back in grad school, we read a book called Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman. ;It talked about the importance of being aware of your own emotions and the emotions of others to make a positive impact on your job success and career path. I've found throughout my career that treating people well, considering others' viewpoints, and empowering people are great tools to success.
