My Role

I am an Intel Career Strategist, Certified Professional Coach, and People Program Director who designs and executes programs focused on employee and manager career development. I have had three careers in four distinct groups at Intel. I believe that each of us is unique and unrepeatable and through the process of self-discovery and actionable career development, we can find the role where what we do every day doesn’t feel like work. I work every day to transform our culture enabling employees to work on projects that benefit the employee as much as Intel.

What I love most about my role

I live for the 'aha' moment when mentees and students see a path forward in their careers. Whether it's getting a clearer understanding of their strengths, values, and passions or scripting out how they'll ask for a career opportunity or the email that tells me they set a career goal and achieved it - I am "motivated by the maximum growth and development of others. I have a strong desire to direct, persuade, or lead others for the benefit of others." (Comes from CoreStrengths.com - my favorite self-assessment.) Helping others succeed is what drives me and is the reason I come to work every day.

How I define success

Success is loving what you do and doing what you love while getting paid to do it.

The best piece of business advice I ever received was

There is no new business problem. Ask around - find the person who solved it first. Ask them what worked and what didn't. Expedite yourself.

What would I tell my younger self

Spend time each week, reflecting and getting to know your loves and hates. Then work a plan to move you toward work you love and away from what you hate.

Be infinitely curious. Keep learning. Ask questions.

What 2B Bolder mean to me

To continuously set SMARTER goals. The E is for Exciting and the R is for Risky. Put yourself out there and try new things and meet new people. You may be pleasantly surprised by what else or who else shows up to enrich your career and your life experience.

Years of Experience

30

I recommend you focus on developing these 3 skills to succeed in a role like mine

Teaching Career Development (Networking, Career Growth, Self Discovery, Managing Upward, Personal Brand, Influencing, Storytelling)
Energizing Others to Action
Inclusive Coaching
